Debbie is a certified Play and Creative Arts Therapist with over two decades of experience working with children, young people and their families. Her Post Graduate Diploma is accredited by PTUK, and she is registered with the PSA. She works in private practice in Northumberland as well as being a director of a local therapeutic community interest company.

She has a vast experience of working with a very broad range of difficulties that children can encounter during childhood from low level difficulties such as low self-esteem, anxiety, low mood, overwhelming feelings, sleep disturbances, loss and bereavement to working with the most vulnerable and traumatised children including adopted and care experienced children in our region.

Neuro affirming, she works passionately, creatively and playfully in a child centred holistic way to allow children to express, understand and process their deepest thoughts and feelings. Debbie firmly believes that children have within them, capacity for healing and she supports them with this, helping develop new patterns of behaviour and coping strategies to help them move forward.

As well as using her trusted play therapy toolkit in her settings she has level one training in Animal Assisted Play Therapy® and her dogs Rufus and Elvie often help her with her work.
